History of Skinners

Skinners was started in Maryborough, Central Victoria in 1986.  Originally manufacturing and selling concrete stumps, business soon expanded into hardware and timber supplies.  Plasterboard was soon to follow and CSR Gyprock was the obvious choice as both business' have the same values relating to customer service and quality products.  With a huge range of quality products and customer service second to none, Skinners created a reputation as the builders one stop shop.

Growth was a natural progression and in 1991, a second outlet was established in Bendigo, once again stocking CSR Gyprock as the primary product, the business model proved successful and the Skinners brand was becoming regionally recognised.

The next logical step was to enter the other main regional centre of Victoria.  In 2001 the Ballarat branch was opened and was immediately successful as the Skinners and CSR Gyprock connection spread throughout the area.

We are proud to service Central Victoria and love the relationships that we have with the local communities.  Feel free to come and see us, let us help you with your next project and let us build a working relationship with you.
